Casual sex, hookups or one-night stands: whatever you call it,Casual sex gets a bad rep. Although most young people have at least one hookup under their belts, many fear this is
- REASONS WHY PEOPLE ENGAGE IN CASUAL SEX
- Wanting to feel better about yourself or to avoid other unpleasant feelings.
- Wanting to please someone else (e.g., your partner or friends).
- Wanting to get a favor, material reward, or revenge.
- Hoping it would lead to a long-term relationship.
REASONS WHY CASUAL SEX IS WRONG
1. Hooking up is immoral
In my opinion you should wait until marriage to have sex. Most people today lack self control and will hook up though. This sends a message that you are easy and maybe carry diseases. Casual sex is bad because you basically are having sex with a complete stranger. You should have a level of trust, love, and comfort in the fact that the other person cares about your feelings and maybe even insecurities the other person should care about you.
2. Casual sex is the essence of degeneration…
Casual sex is wrong as it spoils a potential ‘real’ relationship or marriage with your partner, just imagine hearing them say I’ve had sex with XYZ on a casual basis. Sex on a casual basis is also the cause of sexual infections and a sense of imbalance in a persons life. Casual sex is also ethically wrong and spiritually wrong as it defeats the concept of reproduction and completely disregards the idea of marriage, my point here isn’t that reproduction and marriage is a must, it’s that casual sex as an activity defeats this human nature.
3. No, no and no
Sex is not just a natural desire like eating so everything is wrong with casual sex. But just like anything it has consequences as such one should be aware that you could hook up with a crazy psychopath or you could get an STD and other infections etc..
Sexual sin defiles more than just our physical bodies (1 Corinthians 6:18). It has spiritual significance. Almost every book of the Bible renounces sexual immorality, indicating that God considers it a grave sin. Committing sexual sin is directly opposed to God’s will to sanctify us (1 Thessalonians 4:3).
Romans 13:13–14 outlines the life God desires us to live: “Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.” Sexual sin is one more way people gratify the flesh rather than walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16). Jesus said that the “pure in heart” will “see God” (Matthew 5:8). Unrepentant sexual sin defiles the heart, making it impossible to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. If we wish to be pure in heart, we cannot engage in sexual sin.
