Kirk Franklin Headlines Tim Godfrey's fearless concert

Tim Godfrey and Rox Nation in collaboration with House On The Rock Lagos have announced that this year’s edition of  Fearless Concert will hold on Sunday 13th August, 2017. “Fearless is a gospel musical concert borne out of the need to create a platform to celebrate the work of Jesus on the Cross and the victory it gives to believers.

The worship concert which made its debut in 2016 with Marvin Sapp as its headline artiste had about 6,000 ardent worshipers in attendance.

Fearless 2017, the second edition of the worship concert promises to be even more electrifying as world renowned gospel artiste Kirk Franklin will headline the event alongside multi-talented Gospel artiste, Tim Godfrey and his Xtreme crew at the Rock Cathedral of the House On The Rock Lagos.

The Senior Pastor of House On The Rock Churches, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, speaking on the collaboration said “Tim Godfrey is a son and one of the icons raising the banner of Jesus using the tool of music and we are excited to be part of an historic concert hosting Kirk Franklin at The Rock Cathedral”

Tim Godfrey, writer and producer of the popular song ‘Na You Be God,’ also went on to say, “We are built to be Fearless” and this year is special for me personally because my music has mirrored Kirk Franklin’s. He is one of the biggest influences on my musical career. It is a great honour to host the great gospel icon. I imagine that the city of Lagos and Nigeria will shake for Jesus and lives will be transformed”.

In case you missed the Hallelujah Live brief with @nathanielblowearlier this evening – here’s a summary of what he had to say… The Hallelujah Challenge is not for fame, neither is it for personal gain. It is a mandate from God and he (Nathaniel Bassey) is just a vessel.

Bassey said he has no copyright on the Hallelujah Challenge and he certainly isn’t trying to start a church. The Challenge is purely from a heart that wants to serve – he only derives joy from seeing God take all the glory.

Bassey went further to say that beyond all the miracles and testimonies, God is doing something eternal – something that will outlive generations. Government policies are being influenced according to God’s agenda. The effects of this revival will be seen in future happenings. Amidst the breakthroughs, there should be a consciousness of a higher calling.

Heaven has asked us to give God a Hallelujah praise. The Hallelujah praise is the highest form of praise where we let our guards down and be reckless, unbothered about anyone. The focus is solely God.You don’t have to wait for midnight, let praise come from you throughout the day, saturate your whole being. When we do this continually, we become powerful.

Jesus is being glorified in secular media. There is a soul winning angle to this challenge. People are coming into the consciousness that the God of the Bible is real. The challenge has crossed interdenominational divides, even people of other religion are a part of the revival.

CNN SPEAKS ON #HALLELUYAHCHALLENGE

It is perhaps an unlikely setting for a praise and worship session. But every day at midnight, thousands of worshippers around the world have logged on to Instagram to lift their voices in praise and prayer, united by one hashtag: #HalleluyahChallenge.

More than 60,000 people have joined in the Instagram praise and worship in an hour long midnight gathering, which is the brainchild of Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey.

It all started with a simple post on his Instagram page on the 31st of May, where Bassey signaled his intention to start a 30-day midnight praise challenge throughout the month of June.

Even Nigeria’s expensive internet data costs have seemingly not deterred eager worshipers who have flocked to the livestream on his Instagram and Facebook pages.

At its peak on Monday, CNN observed that around 68,000 people joined the Instagram livestream, while over 50,000 joined the Facebook livestream.

Statistics from Evolve Press reveal 10,000 posts with the hashtag “#HallelujahChallenge” and over 18,000 with the hashtag “#olowogbogboro” making it the number one trend in Nigeria.

Bassey said he did not imagine the movement would become so popular on Facebook and Instagram.

“I had a sense which is the leading of the spirit to praise God the whole of this month,” Bassey told CNN

“Against the backdrop of the challenges in the world today especially in our nation, with the scourge of terrorism and the recession … it has brought a sense of hope and respite. It is a reflection of the desire and hunger for answers and for hope,” he said.

Bassey frequently shares testimonies of participants who say taking part in the challenge has yielded results and a change in their circumstances.

“He’s on course to build the largest congregation ever with 1 phone and Instagram /Facebook” said Facebook user OO Nwoye.

“One lesson I have taken away from the success of this #hallelujahchallenge is have a specific/consistent theme and go live at a time the audience would not be distracted. This has helped in the pulling together the mass compared to others who have tried adhoc live streaming.” he added.

The #Halleluyahchallenge has also gained the attention of popular Nigerian celebrities like Funke Akindele, Don Jazzy and Toke Makinwa who have also shared the hashtag with their followers.

Majek Fashek Worships at House on The Rock

Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Mashek Fashek has been on the part of recovery from drug addictions for a while now and has been seen in Christian gatherings which one can say has aided his recovery from the abuse of illicit substances.

Last Sunday, the “Send Down the Rain” singer worshiped at House on the Rock Church and he was looking very healthy… of course he is an ever jolly-good else his demeanor would have counted as well.

Jehovah Witness May Face Ban In Russia

Jehovah’s Witnesses, a Christian denomination founded in the U.S. in the late 19th century, may face ban in Russia following the decision made by the Russia’s supreme court, a designation members of the faith fear would lead to the shuttering of their more than 2,300 congregations in that country.

The possibility has galvanized many of the world’s 8 million Jehovah’s Witnesses, a minority denomination in every country in which they live, and one that is frequently harassed.

But their experience in Russia, where there are approximately 175,000 Witnesses, has been particularly hostile.

“An imminent ban is in the making,” said Jehovah’s Witness spokesman David A. Semonian. “There are other areas where we have faced challenges, but this is unique.”

The court  is scheduled to take up the case on April 5.

It could be revealed that Jehovah’s Witnesses have already been banned in some areas of the country, where local officials consider their literature and criticism of the Russian Orthodox Church a form of incitement.

Christians speak out on Gay Scenes in Disney's Beauty and the Beast

Franklin Graham has hit out at Disney for its gay scenes in a cartoon and in the movie Beauty and the Beast

Writing on Facebook, Graham says: ‘Disney has aired a cartoon with same-sex couples kissing. It has also been announced that their new movie “Beauty and the Beast” will feature a gay character in an attempt to normalize this lifestyle.

‘They’re trying to push the LGBT agenda into the hearts and minds of your children—watch out!

‘Disney has the right to make their cartoons, it’s a free country. But as Christians we also have the right not to support their company. I hope Christians everywhere will say no to Disney.

‘I met Walt Disney when I was a young boy—he was very gracious to me, my father Billy Graham, and my younger brother when we visited. He would be shocked at what has happened to the company that he started.’

He urges Christians to let Disney know how they feel.

A drive-in movie theater in Alabama announced on its Facebook page it will not screen Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” because it includes an “exclusively gay moment,” and its Christian owners don’t agree with the film’s propaganda. The theater’s Facebook page is now inaccessible.

“If we cannot take our 11-year-old granddaughter and 8-year-old grandson to see a movie, we have no business watching it,” the Henagar Drive-In Theatre in DeKalb County posted on its Facebook page Thursday, according to AL.com. “If I can’t sit through a movie with God or Jesus sitting by me then we have no business showing it.”

The post also said, “When companies continually force their views on us we need to take a stand. We all make choices and I am making mine. … I know there will be some that do not agree with this decision. That’s fine. We are first and foremost Christians. We will not compromise on what the Bible teaches. We will continue to show family oriented films so you can feel free to come watch wholesome movies without worrying about sex, nudity, homosexuality and foul language.”

Don Meon for Ghana at 60 Anniversary Concert

Celebrated international gospel musician, Don Moen will headline a mega gospel concert to mark Ghana’s 60th Independence anniversary.

The multiple award winning musician, behind several renowned hit songs, including ‘God Will Make a Way’, will perform at the International Gospel Concert on March 7 at the Independence Square.

The full complement of artistes for the concert is yet to be announced by the Planning Committee.

Jefferson Sackey, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Sub Committee of ‘Ghana 60 Years On’ planning committee explained in an interview with Myjoyonline.com that the concert is a private initiative.

“This is actually a private initiative. A group contacted us that they are in the process of bringing in Don Moen and we thought that it is a laudable idea to have him in the country especially as we are celebrating 60 years of existence as a nation,” he said.

This will not be Don Moen’s first visit to Ghana. He has graced several shows in the country including a two day concert in December  2009 at the Independence Square and the Accra International Conference Centre respectively.

He was in Ghana in 2013 to be a part the Zoe Conference organised by the Charismatic Worship Centre (CWC) and a special performance at the at the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry (C.E.M) in 2015.

The International Gospel Concert is part of several entertainment activities planned for Ghana independence anniversary celebrations.

Other activities lined up for ‘Ghana 60 Years On’ celebration include ‘Celebrating Ghana Music 60 Years On With MUSIGA from March 10-12 at the Independence Square.

There will be a Jubilee Culture/Arts Festival in all the regions, a 60 Sounds of Ghana on November 1. The CD captures authentic Ghana music through the years.

There will also be a MUSIGA (Musicians Union of Ghana) International Music Concert on December 24.

Born Donald James “Don” Moen on June 29, 1950, Don Moen is known as one of the world’s best singer-songwriters, pastors, and producer of Christian worship music.

He produced 11 volumes for the Hosanna! Music series of worship albums. His first album under his own name, Worship with Don Moen, was released in 1992. His music has total global sales of over five million units.

Moen worked for Integrity Media for over 20 years, serving as creative director and president of Integrity Music, president of Integrity Label Group, and an executive producer of Integrity Music albums.

He left Integrity Media in December 2007 to start a new initiative, The Don Moen Company. The Don Moen Company acquired MediaComplete, the church software company that created MediaShout. Moen became a radio host for Don Moen & Friends in 2009. Moen received a Dove Award for his work on the musical God with Us in addition to amassing nine nominations for his songs.
