VACATION IDEAS FOR CHILDREN ON HOLIDAY

VACATION IDEAS FOR CHILDREN ON HOLIDAY

It’s the period of the year again where our kids go on long vacation from school. For some parents it’s another hectic period where we wonder what to do with our kids, how to engage them productively, who to watch over them while we are not around and the likes. Some even go ahead to ship their children to other relatives in the bid to keep the peace at home, and as the Lagos State government has banned summer schools, this decision becomes tougher for parents.

Here are ideas you can engage your kids with while they are on holiday:

Home Based Coachings

Here selected teachers come to the home to teach/ coach the children on various academic subjects but, parents have to be careful in selecting lesson teachers as some home teachers cannot be trusted.

Home Vocational Coachings/Skill Acquisitions

This is one of the best times to train children especially teens in vocational trainings and various skills acquisition.

Summer camps & Vacation Bible Schools

Various churches and Christian bodies organise their Summer camps and children’s programme this period to train, teach and pray over the kids. This would be a great avenue for the children to go get trained in the ways of the Lord.

Reading and Book Clubs

Children can be taught to read by engaging them in reading book clubs. Where they read books to each other and explain lessons learnt to each other. It is advisable to have an adult around to ensure order and co-ordination.

what other ideas can you suggest. Share in our comment section below.

Things to Know Before Marrying a Pastor

Things You MUST Know Before You Marry A Pastor

Every lady has a dream of getting married someday to her prince charming who will fit into her expectations and who she will live happily ever after with but before you go ahead into that marriage if your prince charming is a pastor you really need to get yourself  acquainted with the under listed points. Happy reading.
1. GET TO KNOW HIS AREA OF CALLING:
You need to ask questions from him which aspect of the ministry he is called into, is it deliverance, faith, healing etc ? Where is he supposed to function in the body of Christ. You need to understand his calling very well and get prepared for the task ahead.
2. GOD IS HIS EMPLOYER NOT THE CHURCH:
Do not expect that because he is in charge of a large congregation then you will not have financial challenges, many have the notion that Pastors have free access to Church money and always get disappointed after marrying him. Note that the Pastor is not the sole signatory to Church account, the church is not an ATM. You had better prepared to spend your personal money on God’s work. If your reason for wanting to marry that Pastor is money induced, please, cancel your wedding.

3. PREPARE FOR A CHANGE
When you get married to a pastor, it will obstruct your plans, change your directions and divert your focus. Dear, there are values that you will have to uphold, actions you will not be able to take, sacrifices you will have to make, your life directions will be significantly affected. How flexible are you?
4. PARTNER IN SERVICE
1 peter 4: 10, John 13: 13-17, Please, know that you are his partner in service to bless and meet people’s needs in the name of Jesus, you are to serve alongside him, do not go with the mindset that people are to serve you. You must embrace his ministry, learn under him and give him the total support.
5. LADIES PASTOR
He will not only be the pastor of men but of ladies too and some of them will be extremely attractive. So, if you are a jealous type, you had better marry someone else and quit your relationship with the Pastor.

Man Who Prophesied His Car Business Gets IVM G5 and Salary For Life from Innoson

Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.
The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one. According to Dr Chukwuma during the presentation of the car, he recalled on how Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe all the way from Kano blocked him at the front of his house early in the morning and told him he has a message for him.
Mr Osakwe went on to narrate a dream he had about him, how he saw in the said dream his vehicle manufacturing company known as CAP PLC. “He told me that CAP means Chukwuma Automobile Productions. Immediately he said that I laughed him to scorn and left him immediately.
After some years when I established the first motorcycle assembly plant, he came back again to remind me of that dream again and told me that I will still manufacture vehicles. Of a truth it was after I had established my vehicle manufacturing plant that I realized that his prophecy was real.

This week I signed an MOU with TAXI PLUS all the way from MALI to supply about 400 vehicles to Mali and I then recalled that Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe prophesied as far back as 1979 that I will be the first indigenous vehicle manufacturing company to sell cars to other African countries. I shed tears of joy and said this can only be the hand of God. That is why I have invited him to let him know that his prophecy has been fulfilled. I have decided to give him a Brand new IVM G5 SUV and pay him a monthly salary for life. I want to encourage him to keep serving His God”.
The presentation of the vehicle was witnessed by the members of Osakwe’s family, friends and relatives. The presentation was done by Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, (Gabros), immediate elder brother to Dr Innocent Chukwuma who equally was a witness in 1979 when the prophecy was given.

In his vote of thanks, Mr Osakwe expressed gratitude to Dr Chukwuma and further told him that more great things will still happen to him and IVM. He prayed for Dr Chukwuma and told him that the Grace of God that has brought him this far will continue to see him through till IVM becomes a dominant force in Africa.

Holy Ghost Saves couple from Robbery

This is the testimony of a christian couple on the 19th of July.

This morning, 19th July as I and hubby were about to step out of the house, we were met by two hefty men at the entrance (where the kitchen was also located). We had been packing for a short journey. We were shocked at the sight of them. They looked daring and mischievous. One of them had several scars on his face. We assumed that they only came to ask for directions or see one of our neighbors. This however was not the case. As they approached us, they told us not to move and brought out guns from their pockets. They pointed these guns at us. Trust me, I have never seen a real gun but these guns were far from being fake.

The time between when the men appeared at the entrance and when they brought out their guns was a twinkle of an eye. In initial fear, I tried to move away from the sight of the pointed guns. Immediately, hubby started to speak in the Holy Ghost. I was scared that this will only get them angry and cause them to pull the trigger. With faith however, I joined him. We spoke in other tongues with zeal. As we spoke, they got confused. They looked at each other, looked at us, looked at each other and then turned their backs towards the gate. We continued speaking, this time with great fire burning in our bones and passion tearing our hearts. As they left for the gate, we followed them and kept speaking, louder and louder in holy anger. They ran out. Two motorcycles appeared in a jiffy and off they went.

All these happened in a short time at around 7:00am this morning. It was like a dream. It however wasn't a dream. It happened in our very eyes. Jesus had just saved us. Saved us from armed men. Saved us from loss. Saved us from death. To think that my M.A. defence was scheduled for today.... What would have happened if we weren't saved?
We saw the saving power of Jesus at work. The Holy Ghost manifest in our very eyes.

I want you to help me share this testimony. This isn't fiction. It is real. I want the world to hear of this. I have heard of this kind of testimony before but this particular one I saw and experienced MYSELF. Jesus saves. The Holy Ghost is real. He isn't fiction. He is Real.
Oluwakemi Kolapo.

Apostle Suleman Urges Nigerian to pray for Buhari

Apostle Johnson Suleiman, has called on Nigerians to pray for President Buhari's quick recovery. While delivering a sermon in his Edo-state based church recently, the clergyman said it was irresponsible for anyone to wish their ailing leader dead.
"It is an irresponsible thing for people to be wishing a president death. Nobody who has a good heart, would be wishing a leader death. You don't wish your leader death. Nigerians should be careful. Only God has the power of life and death. Stop wishingthe President death. If your husband is sick do you wish him death? Do you know that man is somebody's husband? If your father is sick do you wish him death? That is somebody's father...and you are wishing him death. I know this thing I am saying now some Christians wouldn't like it. Stop wishing him death. Pray for his health. Life belongs to God. Don't wish any leader death. Only an irresponsible country wishes their leader death"he said
The clergyman spoke on the importance of peace and also prayed for peace in the North, South, East and

Ladies..3 Reasons Why You Should Wear The Avocado Mask

Avocado is a delicious fruit that has a very positive impact on our bodies; therefore people have been loading up on different avocado recipes to include it in their healthy diets. But avocado can be directly used on our bodies to benefit from it too, like when we suggested that you put it straight on your hair. This time, I’d like to introduce to you the avocado face mask, for it has a magical effect on your skin, so let’s find out what they are and how can you do it easily at home.

1. The avocado face mask moisturizes your skin.

The avocado face mask is the best way to keep your skin moisturized, forget about chemical
products because this mask is way more effective than anything you have paid a lot of money for. Avocado face mask contains vitamins A and E, these two vitamins are responsible for skin moisturization, and getting it from a natural source is the best thing you can do for your dry skin. Because it doesn’t moisturize the surface only, it moisturizes deep in your skin and stays in there.

2. The avocado face mask fights aging signs.

So as I mentioned before, avocado contains vitamin A, and the effect of this vitamin is magical for tired and aging skin. Vitamin A helps the skin produce new cells and restores natural collagen, and the end result is a younger and fresher look with no visible fine lines or wrinkles.  Also the antioxidants in the avocado fight the appearance of dark spots which makes you look tired and old.

3. The avocado face mask is a great deep cleanser.

The avocado face mask works like deep cleansers; it penetrates deep into your pores, and gets rid of dead cells, oils and any dirt to leave you with a fresh and deeply cleansed skin.

How to make an avocado face mask?

  • Just peel one avocado fruit and remove the inner seed.
  • Put it in a bowl and mash it using a fork, until it becomes creamy.
  • If you want to get rid of acne, you can squeeze half a lemon on the mashed avocado and mix it well. And if you want to add more moisturization to the avocado face mask, then add 1 tbsp of honey.
  • Before you apply the avocado face mask, make sure your skin is clean and dry.
  • Avoid your eyes area when you apply the avocado face mask.
  •  Leave the avocado face mask on for 15 minutes or until it dries, and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
  • Please make sure your skin is not allergic to any of the ingredients in this beauty mask, you can apply it on a small area first to make sure your skin is fine with this face mask.
Be comfortable in your own skin!

9 Ways To Live Healthy

Getting healthy is always what everyone - well I hope everyone- wants. But while the intention is admirable, the execution often leaves much to be desired. The secret to staying on track? Get specific. Saying you want to get healthy isn’t going to mean much if you don’t know how exactly you’re going to put that into play. So we’ve helped you research and we share the single most important things you can do.

1. AVOID GETTING SICK BY BRUSHING WELL

Healthy mouth, healthy lungs. When you have bacteria in your mouth, you can breathe it into your respiratory system. That can boost inflammation in your lungs and trachea, upping your chances of contracting respiratory infections like pneumonia. The solution? Rid your mouth of excess bacteria to prevent gum disease. See your dentist for a cleaning at least once a year, and brush and floss—yes, you actually need to floss—twice a day. That will remove plaque, the sticky film that consists of bacteria and sugars.

2. HIT THE GYM TO ALLEVIATE BACK PAIN.

While heavy lifting isn’t recommended for those with preexisting back conditions or back pain, it’s actually inactivity in general that’s likely to hurt your back the most. That’s because exercise strengthens your core, which alleviates pressure and tightness from your lower back. It also builds up your back muscles, so they can better support your spine.

3. TRAIN YOURSELF TO POOP AT THE SAME TIME EACH DAY TO PREVENT CONSTIPATION.

Having consistency with your pooping is important for regulating your bowel function, which can help reduce constipation. You might think training yourself to poop is like teaching a cat to fetch, but it’s actually possible—especially if you make pooping a priority right after waking up. Research says the trick is visualization, a technique where you imagine yourself having that relief at, say, 7 a.m. every day. You know how it feels to take a
really great poop, so tap into that memory and imagine a successful exit, paying particular attention to relaxing your sphincter. By continually visualizing that situation, you may be
able to reset your brain and spark a must-poop-now signal. Then sit on the toilet when you feel that urge. (happy pooping)

4. READ MORE BOOKS TO LOWER YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE.

When was the last time you picked up an actual book? Research says When you’re engaged in a book, you have more cognitive engagement, and that has a cascading effect. With higher
engagement, you have a tendency to de-stress, which reduces your amount of the stress hormone cortisol. When that happens, blood pressure often lowers as a result.

Magazines and newspapers don’t have as much of an effect, probably because people tend to read them in shorter bursts. We will suggest diving into a book—fiction or non-fiction, printed or on an e-reader—as this allows your brain and body to relax more effectively.

5. LET YOURSELF GET BORED TO RECHARGE YOUR BODY AND MIND.

In a culture rich with distraction, boredom is quickly becoming almost retro. But seizing micro-moments of ennui can help to lower stress and sneak some rest into a chaotic day. That’s because boredom often means you aren’t multi-tasking—and that reduces stress overall. Multi-tasking has been linked to increased cortisol as well as adrenaline, which can over-stimulate your brain.

6. SPIKE YOUR WATER TO IMPROVE YOUR HYDRATION.

If you have to pee within 30 minutes of drinking, you’re probably not getting the benefits of that water, she says. Add some amino acids or trace minerals to increase your hydration, Doctors suggest. This is especially important if you are working out a lot, battling illness, or just stuck inside for most of the day—centrally heated offices have notoriously dry air, which can increase dehydration.

7. WEAR SOCKS TO BED TO FALL ASLEEP FASTER.

If you’re struggling with sleep issues, consider keeping your socks on. Researchers have found that warm hands and feet were the best predictor of rapid sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, warming up your feet or hands causes a beneficial dilation of your blood vessels, which is a signal to your brain that it’s bedtime. Once the blood vessels are open in your hands and feet, heat redistributes to the rest of your body to get it prepped
for sleeping.

8. WHEN YOU’RE STRESSED, PUT YOUR HAND ON YOUR HEART TO CALM DOWN FAST

It might feel like you’re about to do the Pledge of Allegiance, but you’re actually hacking your stress response. “It seems weird, but our physiology is designed to recognize this gesture as self-soothing,” says Kristin Neff, Ph.D., associate professor in human development and culture at University of Texas. “It will signal the brain to reduce anxiety.”
Even if you don’t believe it will work, your brain and body will respond. Keep your hand there for just a few minutes, or until you feel calmer, and take some deep breaths to boost the effect.

9. GET 10 TO 20 MINUTES OF SUN EXPOSURE DAILY TO GET NATURAL VITAMIN D BENEFITS.

There are also many benefits to getting a strategic amount of sunlight. It’s best to get sun on your shoulders, arms, or legs instead of your back or face—the former increases cancer risk and the latter ups your wrinkle and blemish risk. So, grab some sun in the late morning or early afternoon—before the stronger mid-afternoon sunshine kicks in—and use your sunscreen afterward if you’re going to stay outside. The solution? Rid your mouth of excess bacteria to prevent gum disease. See your dentist for a cleaning at least once a year, and brush and floss—yes, you actually need to floss—twice a day. That will remove plaque, the sticky film that consists of bacteria and sugars.

HYMNAL FRIDAY: And Now Oh Father

1 And now, O Father, mindful of the love
that bought us, once for all, on Calvary's tree,
and having with us him that pleads above,
we here present, we here spread forth to thee
that only offering perfect in thine eyes,
the one true, pure, immortal sacrifice.
2 Look, Father, look on his anointed face,
and only look on us as found in him;
look not on our misusings of thy grace,
our prayer so languid, and our faith so dim:
for lo, between our sins and their reward
we set the Passion of thy Son our Lord.
3 And then for those, our dearest and our best,
by this prevailing presence we appeal:
O fold them closer to thy mercy's breast,
O do thine utmost for their souls' true weal;
from tainting mischief keep them white and clear,
and crown thy gifts with strength to persevere.
4 And so we come: O draw us to thy feet,
most patient Saviour, who canst love us still;
and by this food, so aweful and so sweet,
deliver us from every touch of ill:
in thine own service make us glad and free,
and grant us never more to part with thee.

Jesus’ image allegedly appears on church wall in Ikorodu

Reports have said that crowd up to 400 a day have been trooping to a church in the Ikorodu axis of Lagos state to make supplications to an alleged image of Jesus.
The image, believed to be the face of Jesus, reportedly appeared on a wall in a church called the Holy Ghost Fire Apostolic Church, Ogunse Estate, Sagamu Road, Ikorodu, Lagos state. Residents of the area as well as church members have been swarming the sight of the alleged miracle since an artisan raised alarm and called the attention of people to it.
Apparently, the uncompleted building of the church actually has a water stained wall which took the shape of a face and many have termed it to be the face of Jesus appearing on a wall.
Worshippers and residents of the area visited the church individually and in groups, praying and singing to God, while some transporters seized the opportunity to hike their fares.
The worshipers were seen dropping sachets and bottles of water by the wall, while others knelt down or touched the image praying aloud.
The construction work at the church has also been put on hold due to the number of pilgrims turning up to catch a glimpse of the image

Presbyterian Pastor, Elected as President of Underpopulated Island Country Vanuatu

Tallis Obed Moses, a long-serving Pastor and former leader of the Presbyterian Church, has been elected President of the Vanuatu Republic in the southwest Pacific Ocean.

He replaces the former President Baldwin Lonsdale who died suddenly from a heart attack last month while serving in office.

Dan McGarry, the media director of the Vanuatu Daily Post who was at Parliament this morning, said Mr. Moses’ reputation as a man of “impeccable moral character” was a decisive factor played a significant role in his being elected to succeed Lonsdale.

The Vanuatu Republic is an archipelago nation with 270,000 population. It’s located in the southwest Pacific Ocean, north of New Zealand and east of Australia

Crawling out of darkness;Raped on her wedding day, Terry Gobanga speaks.

When Terry Gobanga - then Terry Apudo - didn't show up to her wedding, nobody could have guessed that she had been abducted, raped and left for dead by the roadside. It was the first of two tragedies to hit the young Nairobi pastor in quick succession. But she is a survivor.
It was going to be a very big wedding. I was a pastor, so all our church members were coming, as well as all our relatives. My fiance, Harry, and I were very excited - we were getting married in All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi and I had rented a beautiful dress.
But the night before the wedding I realised that I had some of Harry's clothes, including his cravat. He couldn't show up without a tie, so a friend who had stayed the night offered to take it to him first thing in the morning. We got up at dawn and I walked her to the bus station.
As I was making my way back home, I walked past a guy sitting on the bonnet of a car - suddenly he grabbed me from behind and dumped me in the back seat. There were two more men inside, and they drove off. It all happened in a fraction of a second.
A piece of cloth was stuffed in my mouth. I was kicking and hitting out and trying to scream. When I managed to push the gag out, I screamed: "It's my wedding day!" That was when I got the first blow. One of the men told me to "co-operate or you will die".

The men took turns to rape me. I felt sure I was going to die, but I was still fighting for my life, so when one of the men took the gag out of my mouth I bit his manhood. He screamed in pain and one of them stabbed me in the stomach. Then they opened the door and threw me out of the moving car.
I was miles from home, outside Nairobi. More than six hours had passed since I had been abducted.
A child saw me being thrown out and called her grandmother. People came running. When the police came they tried to get a pulse, but no-one could. Thinking I was dead, they wrapped me in a blanket and started to take me to the mortuary. But on the way there, I choked on the blanket and coughed. The policeman said: "She's alive?" And he turned the car around and drove me to the biggest government hospital in Kenya.
I arrived in great shock, murmuring incoherently. I was half-naked and covered in blood, and my face was swollen from being punched. But something must have alerted the matron, because she guessed I was a bride. "Let's go around the churches to see if they're missing a bride," she told the nurses.

By coincidence, the first church they called at was All Saints Cathedral. "Are you missing a bride?" the nurse asked.
The minister said: "Yes, there was a wedding at 10 o'clock and she didn't come."
When I didn't show up to the church, my parents were panicking. People were sent out to search for me. Rumours flew. Some wondered: "Did she change her mind?" Others said: "No, it's so unlike her, what happened?"
After a few hours, they had to take down the decorations to make room for the next ceremony. Harry had been put in the vestry to wait.
When they heard where I was, my parents came to the hospital with the whole entourage. Harry was actually carrying my wedding gown. But the media had also got wind of the story so there were reporters too.
I was moved to another hospital where I'd have more privacy. That was where the doctors stitched me up and gave me some devastating news: "The stab wound went deep into your womb, so you won't be able to carry any children."

I was given the morning-after pill, as well as antiretroviral drugs to protect me from HIV and Aids. My mind shut down, it refused to accept what had happened.
Harry kept saying he still wanted to marry me. "I want to take care of her and make sure she comes back to good health in my arms, in our house," he said. Truth be told, I wasn't in a position to say Yes or No because my mind was so jammed with the faces of the three men, and with everything that had happened.
A few days later, when I was less sedated, I was able to look him in the eye. I kept saying sorry. I felt like I had let him down. Some people said it was my own fault for leaving the house in the morning. It was really hurtful, but my family and Harry supported me.
The police never caught the rapists. I went to line-up after line-up but I didn't recognise any of the men, and it hurt me each time I went. It set back my recovery - it was 10 steps forward, 20 back. In the end I went back to the police station and said: "You know what, I'm done. I just want to leave it."
Three months after the attack I was told I was HIV-negative and got really excited, but they told me I had to wait three more months to be sure. Still, Harry and I began to plan our second wedding.
Although I had been very angry at the press intrusion, somebody read my story and asked to meet me. Her name was Vip Ogolla, and she was also a rape survivor. We spoke, and she told me she and her friends wanted to give me a free wedding. "Go wild, have whatever you want," she said.
I was ecstatic. I went for a different type of cake, much more expensive. Instead of a rented gown, now I could have one that was totally mine.
In July 2005, seven months after our first planned wedding, Harry and I got married and went on a honeymoon.

Twenty-nine days later, we were at home on a very cold night. Harry lit a charcoal burner and took it to the bedroom. After dinner, he removed it because the room was really warm. I got under the covers as he locked up the house. When he came to bed he said he was feeling dizzy, but we thought nothing of it.
It was so cold we couldn't sleep, so I suggested getting another duvet. But Harry said he couldn't get it as he didn't have enough strength. Strangely, I couldn't stand up either. We realised something was very wrong. He passed out. I passed out. I remember coming to. I would call him. At times he would respond, at other times he wouldn't. I pushed myself out of bed and threw up, which gave me some strength. I started crawling to the phone. I called my neighbour and said: "Something is wrong, Harry is not responding."
She came over immediately but it took me ages to crawl to the front door to let her in as I kept passing out. I saw an avalanche of people coming in, screaming. And I passed out again.
I woke up in hospital and asked where my husband was. They said they were working on him in the next room. I said: "I'm a pastor, I've seen quite a lot in my life, I need you to be very straight with me." The doctor looked at me and said: "I'm sorry, your husband did not make it."
I couldn't believe it.

Going back to church for the funeral was terrible. Just a month earlier I had been there in my white dress, with Harry standing at the front looking handsome in his suit. Now, I was in black and he was being wheeled in, in a casket.
People thought I was cursed and held back their children from me. "There's a bad omen hanging over her," they said. At one point, I actually believed it myself.
Others accused me of killing my husband. That really got me down - I was grieving.
The post-mortem showed what really happened: as the carbon monoxide filled his system, he started choking and suffocated.
I had a terrible breakdown. I felt let down by God, I felt let down by everybody. I couldn't believe that people could be laughing, going out and just going about life. I crashed.
One day I was sitting on the balcony looking at the birds chirping away and I said: "God, how can you take care of the birds and not me?" In that instant I remembered there are 24 hours a day - sitting in depression with your curtains closed, no-one's going to give you back those 24 hours. Before you know, it's a week, a month, a year wasted away. That was a tough reality.
I told everybody I would never ever get married again. God took my husband, and the thought of ever going through such a loss again was too much. It's something I wouldn't wish on anybody. The pain is so intense, you feel it in your nails.
But there was one man - Tonny Gobanga - who kept visiting. He would encourage me to talk about my husband and think about the good times. One time he didn't call for three days and I was so angry. That's when it hit me that I had fallen for him.

Tonny proposed marriage but I told him to buy a magazine, read my story and tell me if he still loved me. He came back and said he still wanted to marry me.
But I said: "Listen, there's another thing - I can't have children, so I cannot get married to you."
"Children are a gift from God," he said. "If we get them, Amen. If not, I will have more time to love you."
I thought: "Wow, what a line!" So I said Yes.
Tonny went home to tell his parents, who were very excited, until they heard my story. "You can't marry her - she is cursed," they said. My father-in-law refused to attend the wedding, but we went ahead anyway. We had 800 guests - many came out of curiosity.
It was three years after my first wedding, and I was very scared. When we were exchanging vows, I thought: "Here I am again Father, please don't let him die." As the congregation prayed for us I cried uncontrollably.
A year into our marriage, I felt unwell and went to the doctor - and to my great surprise he told me that I was pregnant.
As the months progressed I was put on total bed rest, because of the stab wound to my womb. But all went well, and we had a baby girl who we called Tehille. Four years later, we had another baby girl named Towdah.

Today, I am the best of friends with my father-in-law.
I wrote a book, Crawling out of Darkness, about my ordeal, to give people hope of rising again. I also started an organisation called Kara Olmurani. We work with rape survivors, as I call them - not rape victims. We offer counselling and support. We are looking to start a halfway house for them where they can come and find their footing before going back to face the world.
I have forgiven my attackers. It wasn't easy but I realised I was getting a raw deal by being upset with people who probably don't care. My faith also encourages me to forgive and not repay evil with evil but with good.
The most important thing is to mourn. Go through every step of it. Get upset until you are willing to do something about your situation. You have to keep moving, crawl if you have to. But move towards your destiny because it's waiting, and you have to go and get it.
